Swap Details
The Swap to Merge phase has ended - Swap Stats.
Swap Eligibility and Priority Procedures
The following criteria will be used to determine the priority sequence of when a community coin will be swapped for Merge coins.
Please note: No coin created after JULY 1st 2018 will be eligible to swap to Merge.
All coins must satisfy the following 3 basic requirements: 1 – Swapped coin must have a total market cap no greater than 4 BTC. 2 – Priority will be given to coins listed on CryptoBridge or an exchange that offers a range of 30-day price history (downloadable to an excel spreadsheet). The 30-day range will be the same for all swapped coins. 3 – Coins must have a Discord channel.
Priority Sequence A – Ready for Swap 1 – Must have a working wallet. 2 – Must be listed on at least one exchange. 3 – Must have a 30-day range of value available. 4 – Must have a working block explorer.
Priority Sequence B – Referred to Valuation Team 1 – Must have a working wallet. 2 – Coin is not listed on an exchange. 3 – Coin does not have a 30-day range of valuation. 4 – Coin currently has a working block explorer.
Priority Sequence C – Referred to Block Explorer Team 1 – Must have a working wallet. 2 – Must be listed on at least one exchange. 3 – Must have a 30-day range of value available. 4 – Coin does not have a block explorer.
Priority Sequence D – Referred to Development Team 1 – Coin has a Broken Wallet/Chain stopped. 2 – Coin is not on an Exchange or has been delisted. 3 – Coin does not have a 30-day range valuation. 4 – Coin has NO block explorer.
How will the swap ratio be determined for each coin?
Priority Sequences A and C
We have broken down the formula into 3 key components to arrive at one final value. They are as follows:
1 – We needed to calculate the “Total Coin Value” (Solve for C). So, we took the “Total Coin Supply” and multiplied it by the “30 Day Range Average”:
- Total Coin Supply = A
- 30 Day Range Average = B
- Total Coin Value = C
Therefore, part 1 of the formula is: A x B = C
2 – This step required us to calculate for the “Total Coins Available for Swap” (Solve for F). So, we took the “Total Coin Value” and divided it by the “Coin Swap Cap” and then multiplied it to the “Merge's Coin Allowance”:
- Total Coin Value = C
- Coin Swap Cap = D
- Merge's Coin Allowance = E
- Total Coins Available for Swap = F
Therefore, part 2 of the formula is: C/D*E = F
3 – The final part of the equation is where we needed to calculate for the actual “Coin Ratio” (Solving for G). So, we use “Total Coin Supply” and divide it by “Total Coins Available for Swap”:
- Total Coin Supply = A
- Total Coins Available for Swap = F
- Coin Swap Ratio = G
Therefore, part 3 of the formula is: A/F = G
Formula in its entirety is: Coin Swap Ratio (G) = A / (((A * B) / D) * E) = Total Coin Supply / (((Total Coin Supply * 30 Day Average) / Coin Swap Cap) * Merge's Coin Allowance)
Priority Sequences B and D
The "Total Coin Supply" of the coin being swapped is used to determine the ratio in relation to the "Merge's Coin Allowance":
- Total Coin Supply = A
- Merge's Coin Allowance = E
- Coin Swap Ratio = G
Formula in its entirety is:
Coin Swap Ratio (G) = A / E = Total Coin Supply / Merge's Coin Allowance
Is there an example of how the swap ratio works?
Priority Sequences A and C
The following illustrates the formula and a hypothetical example of the calculation for the Swap Ratio Merge will use:
Part 1
- Total Coin Supply (A) = 3,676,790 coins
- 30 Day Range Average (B) = 0.00000003 BTC
- Therefore, part 1 of the formula is: A x B = C
Total Coin Value (C) = 0.1103037
Part 2
- Total Coin Value (C) = 0.1103037
- Coin Swap Cap (D) = 4
- Merge's Coin Allowance (E) = 1,000,000
- Therefore, part 2 of the formula is: C/D*E = F
Total Coins Available for Swap (F) = 27,575.925
Part 3
- Total Coin Supply (A) = 3,676,790 coins
- Total Coins Available for Swap (F) = 27,575.925
- Therefore, part 3 of the formula is: A/F = G
Coin Swap Ratio (G) = 133.34:1 Ratio
Priority Sequences B and D
The following illustrates the formula and a hypothetical example of the calculation for the Swap Ratio Merge will use:
- Total Coin Supply (A) = 3,676,790 coins
- Merge's Coin Allowance (E) = 50,000
- The formula is: A / E = G
Coin Swap Ratio (G) = 73.54:1 Ratio
How is the value of MERGE determined?
MERGE has no actual value until it is listed on an exchange.
Where will the coins that Merge use for the swap come from?
We have premined 23,000,000 MERGE to accommodate the swaps. We call it the Swap Budget.
How many MERGE will be available for every community swap?
Each community falling under Priority Sequences A and C will have an allowable swap amount up to a maximum of 1,000,000 MERGE. Those under Priority Sequences B and D will have an amount to a maximum of 50,000 MERGE.
Why is the swapped coin market cap limited to 4 BTC?
For coins under Priority Sequences A and C, Merge sets this cap to be able to accommodate as many coins as possible, while still maintaining the integrity and value of Merge's coin itself. 1,000,000 MERGE maxes out at a 4 BTC cap. This will allow an equal swap for all communities provided they fall under the 4 BTC rule.
Coin Issues
My coin does not have an explorer. Can I still swap?
Merge created a unified explorer that will be able to provide almost all coins the information required to perform the swap.
My coin's blockchain has stopped. Can I still swap?
If the coin is PoW it may only require some hashing power to get the blockchain moving again. We suggest reaching out to the mining pools and asking for assistance to help your community proceed with the swap.
If your coin is full PoS only and the blockchain has stopped, the only way to move the chain again is to update the communities wallets and revert back to PoW/PoS and jumpstart the chain with miners hashing power to have the ability to swap. This is an extensive, complex and time consuming task. It is unlikely that the Merge team will have the ability to assist in this process. We suggest reaching out to your coin's community or the Merge community to seek and ask for assistance from the many unknown talented individuals amongst them.
My coin has no market cap. Can I still swap?
Merge has created a unified explorer that will be able to provide almost all coins the information required to perform the swap. Utilizing this explorer for your coin, Merge will be able to know the total supply of your coin, calculating it with its current value, and the results will reveal your coin's market cap.
What happens to the coins I send to Merge for the swap?
All the coins are sent to addresses of the swapped coin that are generated randomly. No one, not even us, have ever used nor have access to the private keys of these addresses. Thus, it can be concluded that all the coins we receive are burned.
